Poll all 4 XInput slots + open mmsys.cpl directly (not ms-settings)
release / Build Windows .zip (push) Canceled after 0sreleased this
2026-05-27 21:48:12 +03:00 | 62 commits to main since this release#1 Controller dead in v0.6.3: we were only polling XInput user-index
0. If Windows assigned the pad to slot 1+ (multiple Bluetooth/XInput
devices in the host, or the pad simply moved between sessions), the
poller saw ERROR_DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED forever and the chip stayed
on "no pad". Now we poll all four slots each tick, latch onto the
first SUCCESS, and re-scan only when it disconnects — same cost on
the happy path (one syscall when the pad is present), more
resilient when slot assignment moves.#2 Sound settings shortcut did nothing in shell mode because
"ms-settings:sound" URI resolution depends on Explorer's shell URL
handler — which is exactly what's missing when GameSaver IS the
shell. Switched to mmsys.cpl via shell32's Control_RunDLL directly,
which is plain Win32 and works without Explorer.Downloads
