Launch non-Steam games via exe; verify deep-link protocol first
release / Build Windows .zip (push) Canceled after 0sreleased this
2026-05-28 10:15:21 +03:00 Cyberpunk (GOG) failed with a "goggalaxy" protocol error: we preferred
the stored LaunchURI (goggalaxy://...) over the exe, and openURI via
cmd /c startreports SUCCESS even for an unregistered scheme (the
shell takes the hand-off then shows its own error dialog), so the exe
fallback never ran.Now:
- protocolRegistered() checks HKCR<scheme> for the "URL Protocol"
marker before we'll use a deep-link. - Steam still prefers steam:// (overlay/DRM/cloud, always registered
when Steam is installed). - Every other source prefers the bare exe — exactly what a working
desktop shortcut uses — and only falls back to a deep-link if there's
no usable exe AND the protocol is registered.
